Through education the Sparks Museum, since 1985, has been actively preserving the history and heritage of Sparks and the Truckee Meadows

The Sparks Museum does not receive any governemnt funding for its operations and is 100% reliant on donations and volunteers. As budgets for education continue to be cut the role of Museum's in educaiting our youth is becoming more and more vital. The Sparks Museum offer free school tours of the Museum, the Bicentenial Train and the Glendale one room Schoolhouse. A myriad of cultural educational programs are available throughout the year.

Thanks to community contributions the Museum recently completed the second phase of the restoration of their Nationally Registered Historic Building. The space is intended to be used as a Cultural Center. Your contributions will not only enable us to complete the work that is underway, but will assist us in continuing to offer free edcational prgramming such as our in school Color Me Sparks program.
