Southwest Area (Eagan) YMCA Y Partners Annual Support Campaign

Y Partners gifts provide scholarships to children and families who otherwise could not participate in YMCA programs due to financial need.

Y Partners 2010 is focusing on five critical needs:
*Youth leadership and development
*Safe and affordable child care
*Healthy lifestyles for youth
*Health disparities
*Water safety

Y Partners funds allow the Southwest Area YMCA to meet critical needs in our community!
*Nearly 100 5th-8th graders participated in our Summer Biz Town program in partnership with Junior Achievement. This experience educates students about work readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy through experiential, hands-on programs.
*More than 50,000 individuals created a healthy lifestyle through Group Exercise and Active Older Adult Fitness Classes at the Southwest Area Y.
*Nearly $75,000 was provided last year in scholarships for childcare programs to families in need.
*Each day more than 1,000 children got exercise, developed specific skills in sports and learned good sportsmanship in the Southwest Area YMCA's sports and recreational programs.
*More than 400 children per week learn to swim through Swim Academy--our premier, year-round, nationally recognized aquatics program.

$1,255 raised to date

	$50 Cover the cost of life-saving CPR training for a YMCA staff member
	$100 Start a library of favorite children's books in a YMCA Child Care center to help teach the joy of reading and the value of literacy
	$250 Make a lasting impression for 8 youth by providing them with memberships for one month each
	$500 Provide a scholarship for a young woman to participate in YMCA leadership programs
	$750 Teach a group of pre-schoolers to swim as part of their YMCA Child Care experience
	$1,500 Make it possible for 10 low-income, at-risk kids to experience a full week of YMCA Day Camp
