southeast area ymca

This year I am taking on the challenge of helping the YMCA better serve our community. The YMCA works hard to build strong kids, strong families and strong communities by providing free and low-cost programming as well as membership assistance to our fellow residents in need. I personally want to make sure the YMCA can continue to do this for those in our community who need it most. That's why I'm a Y partner-I have contributed to make sure this assisstance continues.

The YMCA means a lot to me. I am visually impaired and walk with the assisstance of braces and crutches. The staff at the YMCA have provided encouragement, instruction, and programs that strengthen my mind and body. The friends I have made at the YMCA are are an additional unexpected benefit. I am still blind and walk with crutches but I am doing things I gave up on many years ago, such as swim, group fitness classes, and many other exercizes. As a result I am healthier, happier, and life is more enjoyable.
