A donation to SPYAC will help to continue the athletic programs it is currently offering, as well as expand into future endeavors.

The South Platte Youth Athletic Club (SPYAC) is a youth sports club founded by 7 individuals in 2009 with a vision of emphasizing athletic fundamentals and skills to provide a foundation for our area youth to pursue a competitive level of athletics. SPYAC strives to develop a competitive atmosphere where athletes can be prepared for the next level while building a team concept and integrating “skills for life” into coaching techniques.

Originally, SPYAC offered football and wrestling, but has since expanded to include boys and girls basketball, as well as being a sponsor for club volleyball and boys and girls basketball teams. Additionally, SPYAC also sponsors various camps throughout the year including basketball, football, and athletic enrichment camps. In the 3 years since its inception, SPYAC has reached and served over 500 area youth within these various programs and camps.

A new venture SPYAC has recently undertaken is to partner with some area adults securing a lease on a vacated commercial building in Holdrege to provide an indoor winter batting facility for both competitive baseball and softball teams. This facility will allow these teams/players the ability to work on both hitting and pitching skills throughout the winter months.

Like the recent project SPYAC has partnered on, SPYAC and its board of directors continues to look for ways that it can assist the youth of Holdrege and the surrounding communities pursue their aspirations in youth athletics. Your donation will help SPYAC to be able to continue the athletic programs it is currently offering, as well as expand into future endeavors.
