Meet the Sole Sisters, a team of women with individual running motivators but one common goal: raise money for Arizona Women's Partnership.
Thank you for supporting our running group! We are the Sole Sisters. We came together as a group of friends, and branched out to friends of friends, and friends of friends of friends! We have impacted each others’ lives simply by running together, and sharing our motivation for running.
Who are the Sole Sisters? We are 23 years old, we are 68 years old, and we are so many ages in between! We are first time runners and seasoned runners. Whether we aspire to enjoy a healthier lifestyle, feel better in a wedding dress, run for more than a record 5 minutes (pre training of course!), or complete a half or full marathon - we all have our individual motivation for running.
Why are we the Sole Sisters? As a running team, we offer advice during difficulty and applause through triumph! With every ache and pain we grow stronger because of the support from our team.
What is our purpose? It has been so rewarding to inspire and support each other. For this reason, we hope to raise money for an organization whose purpose is to support agencies serving at-risk women and children. As teachers, nannies and mothers, we could not think of a better cause to support.
The Arizona Women's Partnership is special to us because one of our very own Sole Sister is on the grant review committee. She knows firsthand the criteria that this organization considers in order to choose to assist. The Arizona Women's Partnership is an all volunteer philanthropic non-profit which awards grants to grass roots charities that assist under-served women and children at risk. Since 2002, The Arizona Women's Partnership has awarded over $200,000 in grants to over 45 charities which address the issues of domestic violence, child abuse, literacy, job skills, parenting skills, refugee concerns, after school programs, troubled youth, etc. Visit www.azwp.org for the full list of AZWP beneficiaries and their profiles.
