Skip the bobcat Portrait by Robert Sloan - Raffle Benefits Big Cat Rescue

Robert Sloan a brilliant artist wants to give back to Skip and all the Big Cats that call Big Cat Rescue in Tampa Florida their home. He will be creating a portrait of Skip the bobcat whom was rescued in December by Big Cat Rescue.

Skip was found by Nici Haerter whom was driving on the highway in north Florida. He had been struck by a car and injured badly. Nici and her husband Skip brought Skip the bobcat to safety and contacted Big Cat Rescue to assist in his rescue. Upon his arrival to Big Cat Rescue he received extensive surgery for his crushed pelvis. While recovering in the Cat Hospital at BCR a webcam was connected and was on live feed via USTREAM.

It is there where the Skipaholics were born. Many folks around the world could keep an eye on Skip and observe his progress while recovering. During his recovery as he was given a whole prey diet it was observed that it caused him trouble and it was founded that he could not pass feathers and bones of whole prey because of his narrow pelvis. With this being said he must be fed a ground diet and was not able to be released back in the wild, which was Big Cat Rescue's intentions. They have rescued and rehabilitated many bobcats and were able to release them back into the wild, where we all would prefer them to be.

Unfortunately Skip was not able to be released, as he would not be able to digest whole prey, which in turn could cause him harm. He is now in his own lavish triplex enclosure with 3 platforms , 3 dens, lots of plant life and even his comfy beds that many Skipaholics donated while he recovered in the cat hospital. He has been doing well and adjusting to being back in the outdoors.

Now Robert Sloan would like to Raffle off a portrait he will be creating of Skip the bobcat with ALL proceeds going directly to Big Cat Rescue - Tampa, FL.

For everyone $10 donation your name will be entered into the raffle. All donors name will be posted on the event page.
