A project of Leavenworth Ski Hill Heritage Foundation
Friends of Johnny Brenan, Jim Jack, Chris Rudolph, and Daniel Zimmermann and their quest to forever immortalize them in Ski Culture.
The Ski Hill Project is an effort by the skiing community of Leavenworth, with help from you, to build a lasting memorial to the brothers, fathers, sons and friends we have lost. Our dream is to develop the Ski Hill in a way that all of these guys would have been “stoked” about. We want to honor their lives by memorializing what they loved to do - ski, ski a lot, teach others to ski, and share it all with friends and family. Will you help?
This is where dreams of going big and skiing hard are born.
Not long after the avalanches that took Danny, Johnny, Jim Jack and Chris from us a group of close friends gathered to discuss how we could turn the loss and grief into something positive. As a tribute to our fallen brothers we have started The Ski Hill Project. Our efforts have raised over $130,000 towards our goal of $500,000 to date. You can help make this happen!
“Of all our trips to many ski areas, your lodge stands out as one of the classics for sure and with the new plans set forth - the old lodge will get even better.” -Glen Plake-
For the skiers of Leavenworth and surrounding areas, the ski hill has been a fundamental part of their lives since 1928. This is where Danny Zimmerman learned to ski. Where Johnny Brenan taught his girls to ski. Where Jim Jack inspired young rippers to go big and carve powder turns and where Chris Rudolph encouraged everyone to get rad.
The Leavenworth Winter Sports Club manages the Leavenworth Ski Hill with fundraising support from Leavenworth Ski Hill Heritage Foundation. Your donations will go directly to project development and construction. Plans are taking shape and the ball is rolling, you can keep this moving.
Help us keep the memories and the spirit of these men alive and protect the heritage and tradition of skiing at the Leavenworth Ski Hill so that generations of kids and families can share the excitement, beauty and community of skiing that these men celebrated and were symbolic of.
