The Black Benefactors is celebrating 5 years of supporting nonprofits in the DC region! Help us to raise $5,000 for our anniversary!

In 2005, I founded The Black Benefactors, a giving circle that awards grants and provides in-kind support to nonprofit organizations serving the African American community in the Washington, DC region. We pool our money and time, and then decide collectively where to give them away. The fund officially launched in 2007, and to date, $11,500 has been granted to six organizations. This year, we celebrate our 5 year anniversary.

Our current goals are to identify and support nonprofit organizations East of the River in DC and programs serving black men and boys.

Our grants have been made possible entirely from member contributions. Please consider joining as a member at $250 a year. As a member, you'll receive member only newsletters and invitations to events, and network with a group of people who share a passion for giving back. If you cannot become a member at this time, please donate to our fund. Any amount is greatly appreciated. For more information on our fund, please contact info@blackbenefactors.org.
