I never though I'd run a marathon. I have never been comfortable asking people for donations. Yet, here I am. The Boys and Girls Club of Newton provides an invaluable safe haven to local kids, most of whom have no other place to go. The staff knows and truly cares for these kids and I admire them for their work. Evelyn and I accompany Tristan to basketball practice or games at the BNGClub twice a week. A few Saturdays back I taught a group of kids how to play Chinese Jacks. They were very respectful and enthusiastic. Hard to say who had more fun, though...them or me? So, I feel lucky and excited to have an opportunity to help out these great kids and the BNGC. Also, I am thrilled about the physical challenge of running a marathon. I have never seen myself as a "runner," but that all may change. I am looking forward to pleasantly surprising myself. This is such a fantastic opportunity. Thank you for your support!
