Spring Glen Class of 2013
A project of Spring Glen School PTA
Dear Sixth Grade Families:
As many of you know, the sixth grade families are responsible for funding the enrichment activities for the sixth grade. Last year, the sixth grade students went to a team-building ropes course, spent a night at the Boston Science Center (while in Boston they also walked the Freedom Trail and took a tour of the city), and visited Yale University. The 6th grade also sponsors Circus Week, gives parting gifts to the teachers and the school, and hosts end-of-year celebratory events.
These events cost over $10,000, most of which was funded by the sixth grade families’ fundraising activities. We hope to do at least as well for this year’s class. There are 45 Sixth Graders and the cost per-student for all of these activities is approximately $288.
There are many ways to participate in fundraising. Last year’s efforts included two Kids’ Night Out events, a Pie Sale, a Mixed Bags Sale and aPlant Sale. In addition to these activities, a Direct Appeal was made, asking families for donations. Donations are both voluntary and tax-deductible.
Thank you.
