Service-learning training support for young people
Pam Siebert fundraising for National Youth Leadership Council
Your support will help equip youth leaders to be as powerful as leaders through helping others.
When I found out about service-learning-- combining service to the community with learning in the classroom, led by the students themselves-- I knew that I had to get involved. In 1998, I started volunteering with NYLC to help with the National Service-Learning Conference, then took a temporary job with NYLC, then a regular job when an opening came, and twelve years later I am still here. What keeps me so invested in this work is my deep belief in the power of young people (kids, students, whatever you want to call them) to have an active interest in their own communities, their own education, and to know that they can make a difference and become leaders.
I encourage you to support NYLC's efforts, not because it's my job, but because I believe in what NYLC stands for and the results in the lives of young people. I hope you have the chance to come to the National Service-Learning Conference, National Youth Leadership Training, join the Generator School Network, visit the online resource center, attend a webinar, or connect with one of the many resources. The youth who have been touched by these programs will tell you how service-learning has changed their lives. Your support is needed to continue this work. Please donate!
