Senior Services of Alexandria offers programs and services for seniors, their family members, and caregivers advocating aging with dignity.

Senior Services of Alexandria (SSA) was founded in 1968 by a dedicated group of city residents committed to improving the lives of seniors in its community.

In partnership with the City of Alexandria, donors, faith communities, and volunteers, SSA is making a real impact through its vital programs and services: managing the Meals-on-Wheels program 7 days a week through a dedicated group of volunteers; providing companionship to isolated seniors through the Friendly Visitors Program; sharing vital information with its senior population at SSA’s monthly Speaker Series events and the new Senior Information Corners in Alexandria’s libraries.

In 2010, the US Census Bureau confirmed that the population of older adults living in the City of Alexandria is growing. As Baby Boomers retire in greater numbers, this trend will continue to increase in magnitude. SSA is an important link between aging residents and other community members. With a dedicated board and staff, SSA will continue to advocate and work to fulfill its mission,"to foster independence and self-sufficiency, enabling seniors within the City of Alexandria to age with dignity."

Donating to Senior Services of Alexandria will allow these programs and services to continue and expand them to reach every senior in Alexandria. We thank you for your support!
