Send Kelsey to Kenya

I have had this desire to love others for as long as I can remember. This desire is not just to love others but to love the poor in the name of Christ. To show these often forgotten people that no matter how they are treated by people in this world there is heavenly Father who loves them with imaginable love. Love so deep and rich that even at our best with those we are closest to we can never love like this. But that is the goal to let these people know that they are not forgotten in the eyes of God they are cared for and loved by God. There has been a calling placed on my life and that is to go, server, and love in Christ’s name. God calls us to care for the poor. I know that not all can go, but then your call becomes to send. I am asking you to partner in the mission of loving the people in Kenya this summer by sending me.

Kibera, Kenya is the largest slum in Kenya. It has been estimated that 1 out of every 3 Kenyan’s live here. Anywhere from 25 to 50% of Kenyan’s live on less than a dollar a day. Kenya is known as one of the most corrupt nations in the world; the average Kenyan pays 16 bribes every month.

On this 2 month adventure my team and I will be spending time in Kibera. We will be trying to engage the poverty stricken residents by sports, skits, music and other ways. We will be trying our best to love these people and to express the love of Christ to them.
