Second Chance is a foster-based all volunteer dog and cat rescue and adoption organization.
Second Chance Animal Rescue was founded in 1994. It is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) organization. The foundation of Second Chance is to provide homeless dogs and cats with a second chance at life and companionship. We value the life of each animal we encounter. We work with animal control facilities and private rescue efforts to save as many animals as possible.
Second Chance operates through relationships with volunteer fosters and local veterinarians. All rescued animals that come into our program are vet checked, spayed or neutered, vaccinated, wormed, FeLV & FIV or heartworm checked. After their vet visit, the dogs or cats go into foster homes where the volunteers work with each animal on its individual need until permanent adoptive homes are found. We screen all potential adopters in order to find the best homes. Adopters are required to sign a contract regarding the care and treatment of the animal and to return it to Second Chance if they can no longer keep it. We place ads in local newspapers and hold adoption events at local pet supply stores. Our animals can also be seen on our Petfinder page.
