A 5-day fest from Oct. 4 to Oct. 8, 2013 featuring the best world film along with Hollywood premieres & stimulating talks with filmmakers.

For the past five years the Scottsdale International Film Festival was the recipient of a SUBSTANTIAL grant from the Century Arts Foundation (CAF). Their support was due to end in 2012. To our delight and surprise the 2013 Scottsdale Film Fest received a CAF Challenge Grant:

The Century Arts Foundation will match your donation dollar for dollar up to $10,000!

And so, the Century Arts Matching Campaign begins. Our goal is to meet and exceed their challenge. Will you please help?

PLEASE CONSIDER MAKING A DONATION NOW. THEN CONSIDER INCREASING THE TAX-DEDUCTIBLE AMOUNT. WE NEED YOUR CONTRIBUTION OF ANY SIZE.

Thank You!

The Festival has showcased more than 350 films over the past 12 years from more than 60 nations to over 71,500 attendees. Films have hailed from Argentina all the way to Viet Nam. During the most recent Festival in 2012 a wide range of films and filmmakers were featured including:

  • An Opening Night Arizona Premiere of the Australian film, THE EYE OF THE STORM starring Geoffrey Rush, Charlotte Rampling and Judy Davis. Director Fred Schepisi presented the film and answered questions from the audience after the film;

  • Three Arizona Premiere / Centerpiece screenings including: SHADOW DANCER starring Clive Owen, STRUCK BY LIGHTNING written by and starring Chris Colfer of GLEE, and Dustin Hoffman's directorial debut of QUARTET;

  • A Closing Night Arizona Premiere of THE SESSIONS, starring Helen Hunt and John Hawkes;

  • The Audience Award-winning Documentary NICKY'S FAMILY.

Most of the 38 feature films presented during the event, including four foreign language Oscar®
contenders, would not have been seen in the metropolitan area if not for the Festival.

High profile participants in past Q&A discussions over the years have included Mike Leigh -OBE, Golden Globe winner Lesley Ann Warren, Seinfeld actor Patrick Warburton, and actress Jennifer Tilly. Cinema scholars and film critics from the local community have also participated in Q&A discussions after Festival presentations.

To encourage the participation of actors and filmmakers, the Festival provides transportation and lodging, often through donations from Festival sponsors.
