A project of EMPOWERED WOMEN INTERNATIONAL INC
We urgently must raise $8,000 by March 5 to complete enrollment for all 17 selected women into the Entrepreneur Training for Success Program
Melina is a 55 year-old talented tour guide of historic sites enrolled in Empowered Women International's Entrepreneur Training for Success, Spring Semester 2012 to build an educational and cultural business for elementary children.
She earns less than $10,000/year, and currently is unemployed. As a single mother of a 14 year-old daughter, Melina cannot wait any longer to find a job. She needs to support her daughter, and save for her education.
I know you hear stories like Melina's every day. But what you don't hear every day is that Melina and other women like her have a real chance through Empowered Women International (EWI) to get back on their feet.
As a student in our entrepreneurship program, Melina will receive 60 hours of business development training, leadership building skills, one-on-one mentoring, and support services, during the program and after graduation.
She will have access to a powerful network of women entrepreneurs and business experts, resources to guide her business, and a marketplace through EWI to jumpstart sales. Her business plan will be vetted by commercial bankers and financial specialists, so she can access capital through micro-loans to grow her business.
Most importantly, she will gain confidence and leadership skills to support herself, her daughter, and other women in need. Melina is not just receiving help to launch her business. We're working together to turn her life around.
Melina is one of the 17 talented and high-potential low-income women selected in EWI's Entrepreneur Training for Success, Spring Semester 2012. She along with the other 16 women, are in need of tuition scholarship to enroll in the program and launch their businesses.
Without this program, Melina fears she will never be financially independent, support her daughter's education, move out of her parents' home and contribute back to the community. The tuition fee is $1,850/student for the full 4-month entrepreneurship training and mentoring program.
EWI has secured funding from generous foundations to cover a portion of the program's costs, but we urgently must raise $8,000 by March 5 to complete enrollment for all 17 selected women. We'll do everything we can to ensure that no woman is left behind.
Thank you for your generosity and continued support. Together, we're empowering women to unleash their creative potential and become contributors to our economy and to the world.
Onward and Upward!
