Save the Children: Haiti Earthquake Children in Emergency Fund
A project of Save the Children
Help Save the Children meet the current & long-term needs of children & families in Haiti affected by the earthquake.
Save the Children is delivering lifesaving relief supplies to children and families in Haiti.
We have also established two mobile clinics in Leogane – one of the hardest hit towns – where 90 percent of all buildings are damaged. The clinics are treating 100 people a day; the most common injuries are broken bones, cuts and lacerations. We are setting up an additional four mobile health teams in Jacmel, where our agency continues with our work to feed malnourished children. We have mobilized our networks of nutrition providers and vaccinators to reach out to communities, check on pregnant woman and new mothers, encourage breastfeeding and assist with childbirth.
We are also setting up the first of many Child Friendly Spaces planned for shelters and camps housing earthquake survivors. These safe spaces protect children and give them a place to play and recover from the suffering they have endured and witnessed.
