I am happy to announce that I will be running the 2012 Pittsburgh Marathon on behalf of Haiti H2O!

2012 is the year ... the year I finally run that marathon. After running four half-marathons, I'm ready to increase that mileage, until I've run 26.2 miles throughout the neighborhoods of Pittsburgh on May 6.

And I'm doing it to see if I can, but also to support a cause I care about -- Haiti H2O, which stands for Hope to Opportunity. It's a nonprofit organization that comes alongside rural Haitians and assists with education and health projects that improve the quality of life for them, their families, and entire communities. Projects supported by Haiti H2O include a village bread oven, new schools, goats, and composting toilets!

I'm also excited to run the marathon in my city, Pittsburgh, where I work to improve neighborhoods by connecting people and organizations with resources. I expect to see a lot of those people cheering me on as I run through those very neighborhoods.

Will you encourage me to keep running, and make a donation that will bring more opportunities to Haitians?

(If you'd rather not donate online, please send me a check made out to Haiti H2O.)
