"The results of philanthropy are always beyond calculation." -Miriam Beard

An unaccounted for number of teens are classified as at-risk each year. Whether they are troubled in school, at home, or on the streets, we can make a difference. Giving to nonprofit organizations that help under-privelaged teens opens a new door of opportunity for many.

I am Sarah Lazar, 14 years old and a student at Redwood High School. This year I was fortunate enough to be chosen to sit on the board of the Marin San Francisco Jewish Teen Foundation.

Through organized group consensus, our team chooses to donate to non-profit organizations that fit our mission statement like a glove.

"The MSFJTF will fund organizations that promote self-sufficiency for at-risk youth in the Bay Area and Israel by providing them with tools to improve their lives."

Myself as well as the rest of the Marin San Francisco Jewish Teen Foundation board have set a goal of raising $54,000. I would like to gather $5,000 to contribute. My personal donation of $100 will be supplemented, as I will be teaching tennis to junior players this spring.
