San Diego Missions Trip 2012
Nathaniel Perkins fundraising for GORDON COLLEGE
Get to know San Diego-- Learning from and working with those affected by the issues of immigration, homelessness, and poverty in San Diego.
This trip is made up of students from Gordon College. As a team, we will be staying in, and working with, a local church, La Iglesia Presberiterina Hispaña, in San Diego where we will be learning from the church community about their experiences as immigrants in the United States. We will also be serving with and learning from different organizations in the city whose efforts are focused towards helping the homeless and impoverished in San Diego. Through these organizations we will be serving in group-homes and other outreach groups by serving food, distributing clothes, and building relationships with the people involved.
I'm really thankful to be given the opportunity to go on this trip. I look forward to learning more about the issues that surround immigration, homelessness, and poverty as it pertains to the San Diego area. I'm excited to see how God works in both my life and the lives of those directly affected by those issues as we serve and grow together.
