The St. Paul Police Foundation is the only non-profit authorized by the City of St. Paul to raise funds on behalf of the Police Department.

About the Saint Paul Police Foundation.... The Saint Paul Police Foundation was incorporated in 2005 in Minnesota and is a tax-exempt organization under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Donations to the Foundation are tax-deductible. The foundation was formed to: * Receive and administer grants and contributions of money or property from individuals, private organizations and public sources. The foundation applies and disburses these contributions to fund, assist with, or undertake programs and activities to strengthen the Saint Paul Police Department (SPPD) and promote public safety. * Promote office safety, enhance the department's community focus, reduce crime, and provide positive public relations for the police department. The Foundation depends entirely on the generosity of corporations, individuals, foundations and philanthropic organizations for project and operating budgets. It receives no tax-levy dollars for its operations. The Saint Paul Police Department has authorized the Foundation to seek funding to support police initiatives. The Foundation does not solicit by phone nor provide goods or services in exchange for support. The foundation is an independent body governed by a board of directors, each of whom serves renewable three-year terms and receives no compensation. Since 2005, the Saint Paul Police Foundation has contributed to the following programs and organizations and provided the following equipment: G.R.E.A.T. (Gang Resistance Education and Training), K-9 service dog, SPPD gym equipment, Kevlar Helmets, SWAT Hostage Throw Phones, VIPI (Victim Intervention Program Inc.), Gang Task Force, special investigative unit cell phone forensics, crime lab, Circle of Peace, law enforcement family support training program, tactical team body armor, stop sticks, ballistic transformers for squad cars, Women’s Expo, Project Lifesaver, Cops & Kids Program, Shop with Cops, Child Safety Program, AR Shotgun racks, and the PAL (Police Athletic League).
