Sponsor runners participating in the Chicago and St. Louis Marathons in October benefitting Quincy/Adams County Project Lifesaver Progam
Project Lifesaver provides peace of mind to care givers of those who wander due to Alzheimer's, Dementia, Autism, Down Syndrome, Brain Trauma and other related diseases. Project Lifesaver uses Radio Telemetry to track these individuals by placing a battery powered water resistant bracelet on their wrist or ankle. They are assigned a unique radio frequency in the 216 MHz FM band and if they wander they can be tracked using a directional antenna and a receiver. The batteries and bands are changed once per month by representatives from the Quincy Police Department or Adams County Sheriff's Department and caregivers call 911 if their loved one wanders.
