I'm running the 2013 Marine Corps Marathon in Washington DC on October 27th to raise money for Wounded Warriors Family Support.
Hi! My name is Rodger and I am very psyched. I just got my official running shirt, which means there can be no turning back! This Sunday I'll be traveling to Washington DC to run the 26.2 mile Marine Corps Marathon…
It's been a long training period, with some unexpected hurdles, like government shutdowns, and worries about terrorism. But all these worries are small potatoes compared to the daily hurdles faced by families of Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines. SO, I'm running on behalf of a pretty cool organization called Wounded Warriors Family Support. ( www.wwfs.org ) Wounded Warriors Family Support is an independent nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide support to the families of those who have been wounded, injured or killed during combat operations.
These families suffer in many ways — emotionally, psychologically and financially. WWFS supports wounded veterans and their families, even after physical needs are met, to help them recover, & reconnect--through family retreats and caregiver respite programs--to help heal the wounds that medicine cannot.
I humbly and respectfully ask for your support. If you can give at any level it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Gotta Run!
