How vainly men themselves amaze To win the palm, the oak, or bays ; And their uncessant labors see Crowned from some single herb or tree, Whose short and narrow-vergèd shade Does prudently their toils upbraid ; While all the flowers and trees do close To weave the garlands of repose. - Andrew Marvell, The Garden Dear family and friends, Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. I am training for the 2010 Boston Marathon as part of Team Esplanade, and raising money for Boston’s Esplanade and the Esplanade Association. The Esplanade is a series of public spaces along the Charles River used by over two million people every year. It is home to the Hatch Shell, which hosts the Boston Pops, complete with the 1812 Overture and fireworks, for its national concert every July 4th. It also provides a year-round oasis of natural beauty, including access to the Charles, running and walking paths and gardens. I went to college just outside Boston. I love the place and owe a deep debt of gratitude for all it’s given me, and this is my chance to give back. The Charles River and the Esplanade are at the heart of the city—providing a place for rest, relaxation and the arts that in my experience is unique. The Esplanade Association is a non-profit organization that works to preserve and restore this core green space for the people from Boston and around the world who visit each year. Donating through this website is quick, easy and secure. You can also support the Esplanade Association and my efforts in other ways—just email me at tseales@westcapitol.com to find out how. Thank you for your support and run on! Terri Seales P.S. Any contribution is welcome. The amounts shown will give you an idea of how your contribution can be used.
