The missions trip to Romania will be primarily helping a program, called New Horizons, build ropes course elements and running a summer camp. Ropes course and outdoor education programs are very powerful. They challenge the participants, they provide a safe environment to explore and question, and they provide a great context to share the gospel. I have seen all of this in my own experiences with summer youth camps, working at summer youth camps, and learning about outdoor education in the WILD semester run by Gordon college. I am going on this missions trip because I want to be used by God in a context where I know from experience that God can move. I have seen how important ropes course work is in the United States and I can't wait to see how it is being used in developing countries.
