A flood destroyed their home. Help them to rebuild!

We're behind, due to weather, on Wayne and Melissa's home. Help us make up for lost time - help us to purchase construction materials!

Wayne works at BCM Grading and Excavating full-time during the construction season. Melissa works as a waitress at Daniel’s Restaurant in Kasson, and is progressing toward her college degree at the Minnesota School of Business. This family works hard, plays by the rules, and is doing the right thing. They need a hand up, not a hand out, so they can make Dodge Center their long-term home.

Habitat for Humanity has high expectations of their future homeowners:

  • They do not get a free house! Habitat homeowners have a no-profit mortgage with Habitat for Humanity, and are required to make monthly payments.
  • Homeowners spend at least 200 hours of “Sweat Equity” time building their home, or the home of another Habitat family. This develops pride of ownership.
  • Habitat for Humanity homes are simple, decent, and affordable, and are built with one bedroom for every two children of the same gender (plus the parents). We are building a five-bedroom home at 801 5th Avenue Northwest.
  • Rochester Area Habitat for Humanity does business with an average of 38 local companies every time they build a home.

Once Wayne and Melissa's home is on track, we'll also be starting two additional homes in Rochester. Join our team through your support today!
