Our commitment, to turn no one away: The Rochester Area Family Y is committed to making quality programs and facilities available to everyone, regardless of their ability to pay.

Shari, Y scholarship recipient, shares: "I like a lot of the new friends we've met through the Y. I feel a sense of community in the mornings when I work out. We could not be members without help. We are living a shoestring budget as it is."

Justin is also a recipient. He shares, "What I like best about my Y membership is the wide variety of activities and programs. I also like that the staff is nice and helpful and that they are focused on my family's well-being. When I first joined the Y I weighed 247 lbs in June and now I weigh 202 lbs. I feel better and I'm more active with my son. I breathe better, sleep better, and I could never have done it without the Y."

Through the Strong Kids Campaign, donors ensure that children and families, regardless of their socioeconomic status, will have the chance to benefit from the important lessons of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility through Y programs and services.

Through the Strong Kids Campaign, donors support some of our most critical, mission-driven programs could not be offered because fees do not cover the full costs of offering the program. Some of these programs include swimming lessons for youth, family programs, Y SPACE, summer camps, Y Mentors and LINK.

We know that several people in our community are not aware that the Rochester Area Family Y does make scholarship dollars available to children, adults and families. Our way of living our mission of building strong kids, strong families and strong communities.
