Raleigh Little Theatre's Divas is a concert made up of local talent in hopes to raise money for the theatre and the education fund.
Hey everyone! Thank you so much for visiting my page. I am so excited to be part of this fundraiser. All donations are tax deductable and whoever raises the most money by the end of the night receives the title of being Raleigh Little Thatre's Diva! for the year 2012! You all know how much theatre means to me and even if you do not....it does.
My father, Thomas M. Cooke, was a great man. He was also a singer and a very well man around town. Growing up I always remember him singing and dancing with my mom, which to a 12-year old was very embarrasing. I found a cassette of "Les Miserables" when I was 13 and I walked into my parents room with a glazed look on my face and said, "what....is....this?" From there I begged my parents to take me to see it and for my 8th grade graduation they took me to see the amazing production. A year later, my father told me I should audition for my high school musical, "Irene". I had an awful case of stage fright but I did anyway. The rest they say is history. I began auditioning at many community theatres in New Jersey and loving every minute of it.
Before I moved down to Raleigh, I visited the area and caught a performance of "The Full Monty" at RLT, which I thought was great and was instumental in securing my move down south. I had the pleasure of being involved with "Light in the Piazza" two years ago. What a great show and it even got me to start learning Italian.
Please, if you have ever seen me in a show or heard me sing you know how important it is to me. I have come a long way since that audition in the music room at Morris Catholic High School and what a better way to tribute both my parents and the theatre community of a whole by raising money for one of the many theatre's that has helped me along the way.
Thanks for your support!
