One of Santa's regional workshops has suffered a fire and needs your help to recover. Please help the elve's at the RJ Scheffel Toy Project.
The R. J. Scheffel Memorial Toy Project provides wooden toys and games, hand crafted by volunteers, for children who are disadvantaged or in crisis. The toys are donated to families and non-profit agencies across mid-Michigan. Unfortunately their workshop and offices were damaged by fire on July 30, 2013.
The volunteers at the Toy Project are primarily retirees that gather several times each week throughout the year. Their aim is the bring smiles to the faces of children. They also recognize that “people do not stop doing things because they get older; they get older because they stop doing things.” These men and women are truly Santa’s helpers, though their good work continues throughout the year.
Let’s help Santa’s helpers at the R. J. Scheffel Memorial Toy Project recover and rebuild from the fire. Funds are needed to salvage completed toys, cleanup and repair the facility, and to purchase new supplies and equipment. Maybe we’ll even raise enough to help them expand and improve the facility beyond what it was prior to the fire.
