On May 19, 2012 Hossein Vahabzadeh will celebrate 29 smoke-free years with a 29 mile (plus a few) bike ride!
In 1983 my father gave up his two pack a day habit cold turkey and has never turned back. To celebrate this achievement, he is using those healthy lungs of his to ride his bike a mile for each smoke-free year and a few to grow on, because he can!
Hossein has the support of his wife, both daughters, two son-in-laws, and 3 grandkids, who are all thankful that he dropped the habit and is healthy enough to do this ride on the heels of his 67th birthday.
A philanthropic man, my dad would like to use this celebration to benefit others who may struggle with their decisions to live healthier lives.
The bike ride will take place on May 19, 2012 at 8:00 a.m. He will start at the home of his daughter and son-in-law in Panama City Beach, Florida and head west along 98 and then 30A. He will end the ride approximately 3.5 hours later at Gringo's in Baytown Wharf in San Destin, his son-in-law's resaurant.
We appreciate any support you can give, wether in donation form, cheering him on or joining us to celebrate at the end. Any money donated will go to the American Lung Association.
