I am running the 2013 Boston Marathon for Team uAspire!
uAspire is an amazing organization that works to ensure that all young people have the financial information and resources necessary to find an affordable path to a college education. I couldn’t have picked a better charity to support and I hope that you will help me raise money for them!
Currently Deanne, my (incredibly supportive) wife, is on a 6-month sabbatical at uAspire. This organization and their mission mean a lot to our family because of its focus on accessibility to quality education, something that was very important to my late brother, David Scott Wherry. I’m running this marathon and supporting uAspire to continue to honor Scott’s legacy, and give back in a way that he would appreciate.
The kids that uAspire works with are amazing - many of these kids will be first generation college graduates. They often come from low-income families and many of the kids never thought they would be able to afford a college education.
uAspire has helped students secure more than $150 million in financial aid in the last three years alone and has awarded more than $5 million in need-based last dollar scholarships since our founding, maintaining a 75% college graduation rate for the students we serve. Through partnerships with high schools, community organizations and local universities, uAspire has helped more than 50,000 students achieve their dream of higher education.
Your donation will help them to further their cause, and for those students to achieve their dream of a college education. Thank you so much for your support!
