G-Row Boston Marathon Charity Team 2012
Rich Feilteau fundraising for Community Rowing Inc
Two of my biggest passions in life are rowing and running, so running Boston and helping raise money for G-Row is the best of both worlds!
I was introduced to the sport of rowing in 2004. I was immediately hooked! I love the sport. It has been very rewarding to me physically and also socially. I am definitely a much healthier person because of rowing.
I am also an avid runner. I started running competitively about six years ago. I ran my first half marathon on Thanksgiving day in 2009 and I knew right when I crossed the finish line that I definitely wanted to run a marathon. The Boston Marathon has always been "the marathon" to me. I have personally witnessed over a dozen Boston Marathons in my life, always wishing that someday it was me that was running. Now I have that chance!
The G-Row Marathon team allows me to achieve my goal of running Boston while helping support a great organization which provides rowing to adolescent girls from Boston public schools. G-Row Boston (http://www.growboston.org/) brings the physical, psychological and social rewards of rowing to girls who may not otherwise have access to the sport. The program also provides mentors and college advising through a partnership with The Bottom Line. Since the program's inception, almost every G-Row graduate has gone on to a four-year college!
I am determined to do this and with your support we can make it happen! Every dollar helps! I appreciate any support you can provide! See you at the finish line!
