"Hello Everyone! My name is Rhonda and I'm a very pretty (if I say so myself) Finnish Spitz dog. One day I found myself wondering lost in the countryside. I'm not exactly sure how I ended up in that predicament, but there I was, cold and lost. I also had hurt my hip and knee. I don't remember how that happened either. I was very scared and a nice man found me and took me to a place called Prairie's Edge Humane Society. Now let me tell you, I was scared here at first also, but these people at this place seemed so nice and they gave me treats and a bed and fed me so I figured they were probably ok and now I really like them. So even though my leg hurt real bad I was very happy to be here. They had this guy they called "Dr. Charlie" look at my leg. He even took a picture of it that they called an x-ray. From what I understand, they can actually see my bones in this picture! Let me tell you, that was a strange experience I have never had before, but they were all really nice and made sure it didn't hurt. They said my hip was dislocated and if that wasn't enough, I tore the ligament in my knee as well. I'm pretty impressed with myself because I thought that only happened to football players! That guy they called "Dr" did what he called "surgery" on me, while I took a nice nap. Now I am able to put more weight on my leg. I'm so much more comfortable. He said I am going to have to have some more surgery on my knee so I am making sure I get a lot of rest before then. These really nice people at this place called Prairie's Edge are giving me some really tasty medication so that I don't have too much pain so that I can keep comfy! And now they say that I'm going to have something they call "physical therapy" to help me get back to normal...well, actually my knee will never be normal, but they say I will be able to live a good life as long as my new family makes sure I take my medication. Did I tell you how much all of this costs? Well, from what I understand, it's expensive to take care of me and I sure appreciate all they have done for me. Can you do me a huge favor? Will you please give these nice folks at Prairie's Edge a donation so that other dogs who get hurt and come here can get the same wonderful treatment they gave me? That would really make me happy! Well, I'm kind of tired now. That medication makes me sleepy sometimes, so I think I will take a nap. But don't forget to make that donation, ok?" - "P.S. Watch the video on this site also to learn more about Prairie's Edge Humane Society, they are really great folks." - Rhonda
