The Respite Shelter is a nine-bed, 24 hour shelter for homeless men that are released from the hospital and in need of a place to recover.

The Respite Shelter is an emergency shelter serving Maricopa County since 1988, established as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization in 1992, and a valued partner of Valley of the Sun United Way. Thanks to community support this year, we provided 2986 emergency shelter bed nights, 8352 meals, over 800 social service case hours for un-duplicated guests, in which 100% of those eligible successfully relocated into permanent housing, 73% made exceptional improvements in health, life skills, income, gainful employment and transitional housing, 79% obtained health-care insurance and/or sustainable income, and 100% of the guests we served were homeless in Maricopa County with no income or income means far below Federal Poverty Levels. Our future includes new facilities for homeless women in 2013, transitional housing and gainful employment services. Thank you for your continued support and embracing our cause.
