As a volunteer-based, nonprofit rescue organization, donations are vital to helping us save innocent cats and dog in danger of euthanasia.
Rescued Pets Are Wonderful is a nonprofit group of volunteers dedicated to finding loving homes for rescued dogs and cats, and educating the Twin Cities metro area about responsible pet ownership and pet overpopulation. Since 2004, RPAW has rescued and rehomed almost 6,000 animals. Currently, we have more than 125 animals in our program. RPAW is completely volunteer-based and relies on donations and adoption fees to continue its mission. There is no physical shelter, all animals are hosted in private foster homes or in adoption centers at local pet supply stores. Potential adopters can find animals up for adoption online at rpaw.org and petfinder.com, and at adoption events and several local adoption centers. Where do RPAW rescues come from? Stray, abused, injured and unwanted animals often find themselves in an animal control facility. RPAW works with several local animal control facilities to save unclaimed animals that may otherwise be euthanized. We also take in animals surrendered by owners who can no longer care for them. Once animals are taken into our program, we provide them with lots of love, a temporary home, veterinary care, and everything thing else it takes to keep them happy and healthy. Animals have been in our program for as little as one day, or as long as several years. Our rescues are safe in RPAW foster homes for as long as it takes until they find a loving, suitable forever home to call their own.
