Reiser Relief
To provide relief, hope and dignity to the poor, elderly and homeless people of Haiti.
Dear Friends of Reiser Relief
Summary of our various Haitian projects
With the help of some of dedicated supporters, Reiser Relief is making a difference every day through our core mission:
To provide relief, hope and dignity to the poor, elderly and homeless people of Haiti. To provide relief from malnutrition and water born illness by providing food and clean water to women, children and elderly living in slums and impoverished situations. To provide hope for the poorest children and orphans by funding education and housing. To strive, by the Grace and Greatness of God, to be the hands and feet of Christ in serving the most vulnerable Haitians
Your generous support means the world to the people of Haiti, now more than ever.
My sister, Joyce, and I, Father Reiser's nieces, made our first visit to Haiti in May. We were able to see firsthand some of the many projects Father Reiser and Reiser Relief are part of in Haiti. We were thrilled to see all that has been done (good things ARE happening in Haiti!), but extremely touched and saddened to see how much suffering still takes place there on a daily basis. The trip strengthened our belief that we at Reiser Relief CAN make a difference in Haiti.
Our accomplishments in 2012 thanks to our generous donors!
Since Father Reiser’s death, we have continued to support the many projects in Haiti that Father Reiser held dear to his heart:
As we know Father Reiser would have wished, we are exploring what additional needs there are for us to address in Haiti in 2013, and this is where we hope to get the help of faithful supporters of Reiser Relief such as you.
Helping provide elderly people the means to live the later years of their lives with dignity and respect was very important to Father Reiser.
During our visit to Haiti in May, my sister and I were extremely troubled to see the deplorable living conditions of so many of the older population in Haiti.
While assisting with a meal delivery service in Titanyen, Haiti, we were shocked to see elderly people living alone in one-room shacks with no food, no water, no bathroom facilities, little or no care, and in many cases, not even a mattress to sleep on. Some of them were left to lie in their own waste with bugs crawling on them.
It was very clear to both of us that our uncle would not have been able to tolerate what we witnessed there.
Our biggest goal for 2013 is to once again partner with Healing Haiti in helping to fund an Elder Care facility to be built in Grace Village that will house some of these forgotten elderly living in the village of Titanyen.
We at Reiser Relief thank you
