Reed Lipman Mitzvah Project - Peace Players International - Middle East

For my Mitzvah Project I resolved to do three things:

1. Research Peace Players and learn of its objectives and activities, particularly in the Middle East.

2. Raise awareness for Peace Players among my friends and family.

3. Ask invitees to my Bar Mitzvah to donate to Peace Players in lieu of gifts.

This past December my family and I were able to come and see a Peace Players bkb game in Jerusalem. The Jewish and Arab girls were playing together on a team which is the first ever integrated team entered in the Israeli National Basketball League. This visit really helped me to see the game I love in a different light and also see that my project would have a major impact. Please click on the url below to see what my visit was like:

The cost to support one child in the Peace Players program in Israel is about $850 per year. My goal is to raise at least $6800 to enroll eight (8) children (four Arab and four Jewish) for the year.
