Red to Green: HEAL's eUtah Renewable Energy Project

Dear Friends and Family,

"What happens when the sun isn't shining and the wind isn't blowing?"

This question is an important one, and it's one we at HEAL continually hear on Capitol Hill when discussing our energy future with legislators. In HEAL's advocacy against nuclear power (and the radioactive byproducts that come with it), we knew it was critical to make the sound case for alternative energy in order to steer our state away from both nuclear and fossil fuels.

Thus began the eUtah Renewable Energy Project, which is assessing the feasibility of generating all of Utah's electricity from renewable sources by 2050.

It is perhaps the most visionary campaign HEAL Utah has ever embarked upon.

We are really digging into the weeds in order to help provide a model for what a fully renewable electricity system would look like. (Go to www.healutah.org/cleanenergy/eutah to learn more.)

After months of research, coordination with our experts and advisory board, and meeting with key energy players we expect to release the eUtah report this December, which will really put the rubber to the road for transforming our state's energy policy.

In this tough economy, however, every dollar counts. And while we’ve lost some foundation funding for the study due to the downturn in the economy, HEAL Utah has been given an invaluable opportunity with a matching grant from the Cultural Vision Fund.

By July 31st, we need to raise $15,000 to receive an additional $10,000!

That's why I'm turning to you. My goal is to raise $1000 for eUtah. The donation amounts listed on the right show how HEAL will put your dollars to work, but they are only suggestions. Any and all contributions make a difference!
