NPEF is the statewide convener of the Ready for Life movement, which connects public & private organizations across Nevada to elevate youth.

  • Dr. Heath Morrison, who has already raised the graduation rate in Washoe County, urged community members to help.
  • Jeremy Aguero, Principal Analyst at Applied Analysis, knows that it requires each and every person to commit to youth.
  • Hundreds gathered at the Washoe Community Compact launch to get inspired and learn how elevating youth begins with ME.
  • Graduate Advocate Initiative used a multi-media campaign to inspire the community to mentor youth to achieve graduation.

The most recent community collaboratives were initiated statewide in both Washoe and Clark counties in 2011. These exciting movements provide a concrete platform for each and every community member to provide valuable resources to assist youth for life readiness--whether that's offering valuable volunteer time or a donation in any amount that fits their personal or business budget.

  • Washoe Ready for Life Community Compact: Inspired by determined and dedicated community members, this multi-media effort encourages residents, businesses, and organizations from every segment of the community to look in the mirror and take personal responsibility to elevate youth through volunteering in any capacity--whether that's reading to a child or providing a job shadow day at their company. Graduating all.. Ready for Life.. starts with you and with ME.
  • Graduate Advocate Initiative (GAI): The Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Las Vegas class of 2011 chose to support a community ethic that values education—by creating the GAI Its focus is to rally the community to collectively raise the graduation rate in Southern Nevada by pairing community members, as Graduate Mentors, with students in the high schools. Children are inspired by a mentor sharing their own personal knowledge, insight, and journey to success.
