I'm committed to read the books that donors vote for me to read for the month of August. I'm reading so others can begin a new chapter.
Imagine not being able to fill out a job application form by yourself or understand your heat and electric bills. Think what could happen if you didn't understand the right dosage of medicine to take. How would you get to work, the doctor's office or the grocery store if you couldn't figure out a bus schedule and the bus was your source of transportation? These are the everyday struggles for those who live in our communities who cannot read, write, or comprehend and solve problems.
Support literacy this month by donating and voting what I should read this month. Follow my reading progress on Goodreads.com where you will find my "to-read" list and my comments on what I have read. If you follow me on Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn, you can also see my Read-a-Thon progress posts.
