River City Rhythm is a competitive winter drumline open to area youth between the ages of 16 and 22.
RCR is now in its third season and we have continued to grow and succeed each season; this year will be no exception! As a non-profit that is not affiliated with any school or corporation, RCR has survived entirely on dues paid by the members themselves and outside donations/fundraisers.
RCR competes as part of the Minnesota Percussion Association winter drumline circuit, and then in April they go to Dayton, OH to compete in the WGI World Championships. RCR has won the MPA Independent A Class Championship the past two years, and has been named a Finalist at the WGI Independent A Class World Championships!
As this is entirely an extra curricular activity, all of our members are agreeing to pay to do something they love and are passionate about. These are high school and college students who choose to participate in fundraisers or pay out of their own pockets to do what they love, and RCR's success is largely due to this passion. Winter drumline is a very demanding activity, physically and mentally. It is a large time commitment. The members pay to give up their weekends during the winter and absolutely love what they do!
RCR has an amazing staff, all of whom have collectively experienced and won awards, honors, and championships at every level from high school through college through drum corps, the highest possible level of marching percussion! They are enthusiastic individuals that value the education of the members as much as they value the enjoyment of the members.
RCR is always looking for financial help. Donations can be great and small as the needs are great and small - everything from drumsticks to things like trailers, equipment, and financing the trip to Dayton, OH. RCR graciously accepts any donation you can offer!
