The indoor riding arena is almost complete! It needs to be equipped with a mounting ramp so students may safely get on the horses!
ROSES is a nonprofit organization serving people with disabilities and provides them with a unique, therapeutic environment. Children and adults with disabilities not only get to learn horseback riding and horsemanship skills, but they make new four-legged friends!
Six years ago, I never would have imagined that volunteering at ROSES would change my future plans, but it did. I absolutely fell in love with the horses, volunteers, and students. Everyone makes such a good team at ROSES that year after year I kept coming back to give my time because of what a rewarding experience it is to help someone in need. It is amazing to watch sudents explore a new environment and succeed at the skills required to ride a horse. I am now a certified therapeutic riding instructor who is just trying help finish the inddor riding arena so that students have a chance to ride year-round!
