Rain Taxi champions literary culture through programs and publications that foster engagement with innovative writing.

Founded in 1996, Rain Taxi is committed to artistic diversity, cultural relevance and widespread access. Rain Taxi publishes the award-winning quarterly print magazine Rain Taxi Review of Books and the accompanying website www.raintaxi.com, connecting readers to books of merit that might otherwise get overlooked. Free copies of the review are distributed to independent bookstores and literary centers across the nation and access to online content is free. We also provide terrific online resources like the Twin Cities Literary Calendar and the Pedagogy pages for teachers and students who want to use Rain Taxi in the classroom.

Rain Taxi also showcases authors in its Reading Series and the annual Twin Cities Book Festival, bringing literature to life and providing a public venue where readers and writers can meet in celebration of the literary arts. Rain Taxi supports writers and readers by creating a forum for dialogue about literature that inspires and is culturally important. Our support extends from there to small press publishers, libraries, and independent booksellers who depend on this dialogue to keep flourishing in a distracted society where books may take a back seat to other types of media. Rain Taxi brings attention to those first-time novels, poetry, cultural studies, books in translation, art, graphic novels that may get lost in the shuffle. Any support we can get will help us to keep books and literature alive and thriving in this nation.
