Dear Family & Friends,
On April 16th 2012 I will be running the 2012 Boston Marathon in support of the Michael Carter Lisnow Respite Center in Hopkinton. Working with patients suffering from life threatening diagnoses at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital’s Outpatient Center in Framingham, I couldn’t choose a better organization to support. This respite center provides emotional and physical support for children and adults with disabilities.
From 8 years-old through college, I was a competitive swimmer participating in mostly distance events. Once my college career ended, I chose to take on a new hobby of running. I have completed a couple of half marathons, but have only dreamt of completing the Boston Marathon. I am so excited to have this opportunity to help such an incredible organization as well as achieve a lifelong dream of mine to run the historic marathon from Hopkinton to Boston.
In addition to working as a physical therapy aide at Spaulding, I am also a swim coach for Crimson Aquatics (a club swim program in Cambridge). A true passion of mine is helping others achieve their goals. Everyday at Spaulding I assist physical therapists with patients' treatments helping them take that next step forward whether it’s reducing their pain level, or taking their first steps with a walker. At Crimson, I help my swimmers achieve their goal times to qualify for that higher meet. Fundraising for the Michael Carter Lisnow Respite Center, I will help offer a home away from home for those in need.
All donations will make a difference!
