Project Purr BR saves cats and kittens from the euthanasia list at Baton Rouge's community animal shelter.
Project Purr BR formed in spring of 2010 when its founders learned that 90% of all felines who entered our community shelter died there. We instituted two major programs:
1. Rescue from the area in which cats and kittens are put down, placing in foster care, administering comprehensive veterinary care, and adopting into loving permanent homes.
2. Trap-Neuter-Return for the 60,000 feral/free roaming cats in our area, thus lowering the number of homeless cats at risk of being impounded.
Each rescued cat costs us on average $140.00. Our average adoption fee only covers half of that. We depend on public donations to make up the rest so that we can continue our work of saving lives and lowering the kill rate at our community shelter. Thanks so much for your help!
WE INVITE THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVE BEEN POSITIVELY IMPACTED BY PPBR TO SHARE YOUR HAPPY ENDING STORIES!
