ProInspire is building the next generation of nonprofit leaders by recruiting talent, developing professionals, and increasing diversity.

The leadership deficit is the decade’s greatest challenge facing nonprofits.

According to The Bridgespan Group, the nonprofit sector will need nearly 80,000 new senior managers per year by 2016, and current talent pools will not fill that demand. Nonprofit organizations also face challenges that increasingly demand a business skill set, including analyzing data to measure performance, creating corporate partnerships, and developing strategies to scale impact. While many business professionals are interested in working in the nonprofit sector, there are few clear entry paths and on-boarding experienced professionals can be challenging.

ProInspire is the solution.

ProInspire is building the next generation of nonprofit leaders by expanding the talent pipeline, developing nonprofit professionals, and increasing diversity. ProInspire launched its flagship program, the ProInspire Fellowship in 2009. Since then, ProInspire has worked with leading nonprofits in the Washington D.C. region to provide talented professionals who bring critical skills and new perspectives to their work addressing major social issues like education, job creation, and poverty.

How does ProInspire work?

ProInspire recruits outstanding business professionals with 2+ years business experience who want to use their skills for social impact. Fellows spend one year working full-time in an analytical or strategic role at a leading nonprofit organization. The highly competitive one-year program offers targeted positions with leading nonprofits, monthly trainings with a cohort of peers, a coach, and a network to support career growth.

ProInspire launched the third Fellowship class in August 2011. Since 2009:

  • Over 700 candidates have applied and 30 Fellows selected
  • 60% of Fellows over the program’s history are persons of color
  • 80% of nonprofit partners keep their current Fellow or hire a new Fellow
  • Nearly 100% of Fellows rate extremely high satisfaction with Fellowship as entry point into social sector

In 2012, ProInspire will launch two new initiatives to provide nonprofits with the talent needed to address society’s most important issues:

  1. Double the size of our Fellowship program to support more nonprofit organizations in Washington D.C. by launching a Spring class of Fellows.
  2. Launch of a Managers Training Institute to support new and mid-level nonprofit managers to step into senior management positions.

Your support is critical.

We seek to provide the sector with the talent and leadership to address our nation’s most pressing problems. On Wednesday, November 9thProInspire we will be participating in 24 hours of giving Give to the Max Day, an innovative event that provides a new way for local residents to give, and create a stronger nonprofit community for the DC area.

Your donations will help us:

  • Offer the Fellowship to our nonprofit partners at an affordable rate:We rely on your support to raise 50% of the funds we need to deliver our high quality Fellowship.
  • Develop our new Managers Training Institute: The program will allow new and mid-level managers gain the skills and network to step into senior management positions.
  • Expand into new cities: New York, Boston and San Francisco are in our sights, but we need to invest in a dedicated leader in those cities that will develop the partnerships to get us off the ground.

Every dollar you donate will contribute to our mission of building the next generation of nonprofit leaders, and every gift counts.
