Help purchase gifts of popcorn to local military personnel and their families, and provide camp scholarships to at-risk youth.

Just One Click Makes Your Community Pop!

Northern Star Council’s “Give to the Max” day has a unique focus this year. Give to the Max 2011 will benefit two groups in the area we serve. Your donation will be used to purchase popcorn through our “Popcorn for Troops” program, which presents gifts of popcorn to local military personnel and their families as a thank you for their service. One third of your donation will purchase popcorn for area military families and the rest of your donation, two-thirds, will go to support Scouting, by providing camp scholarship to families experiencing financial hardships. Each year, Northern Star Council distributes over $100,000 in camp scholarships to families in need.

Also, Troop 124 from Northern Lights District will match the first $3,000 in donations through this program; so your dollars could be doubled! Click the donation button to have your donation help two deserving local groups and if you are part of the first $3,000, have your donation doubled!

This is a one-time appeal for this program and is different from our annual Friends of Scouting campaign. Thank you in advance for your support of Scouting and the Popcorn for Troops program.

As a proud mom of an Eagle Scout and single parent, Scouting provided my son with the best mentors, great adventures, life-long friendships, and skills he can use for the rest of his life. My grandfather and father served in the military during World War II and the Korean Conflict, I've always been awed by what we ask our troops to do and what they accomplish. Scouting and those who serve us in the military, and their families will always have my respect and support. Join me in supporting them!

Scouting can be the first rewarding step for our youth to be healthy, contributing citizens and leaders in their families, communities and the world. Service through the Military is another direction of the same type of life learning experiences and contribution. Thank you to all who serve through Scouting and through our Military Services - past, present and future.

Scouting helps make a difference in the lives of our youth. Serving your country is the ultimate sacrifice and we are very greatful to every current and past military man and woman for their service.

My family is grateful to those people who serve in the military to maintain the freedom and security that the USA enjoys; and we appreciate the leaders who give their time and talent so that young people may have the scouting experience.
