We are continually humbled by the perseverance of our students. Every October, against immeasurable odds, they return to school, eager, joyous and hopeful.

This year we will have 2500 students on the rosters, many of them now in the 12th grade, about to finish high school.

The supplies/uniforms distribution is the heart and soul of the PLF. It costs an average of about $15 to equip a student with one uniform, one pair of shoes and all their supplies and books. We do this distribution in October on opening day of school and once again on a smaller scale in March.

$25 covers it for one student for the year, just a bit less than the average rural family's monthly income.

There are all sorts of wonderful things waiting for these students once they have what they need to come to school.
