United Way Alternative Spring Break gives students the opportunity to exchange swimsuits for toolbelts for one week!

I have the privilege of leading a group of University of Arizona students to El Paso, Texas for Alternative Spring Break. There we will join college students from various schools in the western US and volunteer side by side. Students will collaborate with the Lower Valley Housing Corporation and the families that the organization serves to build homes. We will be gone March 13th-20th and hope to make a huge difference in the El Paso area. Alternative Spring Break (ASB) is an incredible opportunity and will be an experience that these students will never forget. Following the destruction in the wake of hurricane Katrina, United Way World Wide invited college students from across the country to volunteer during their spring breaks to aid in the recovery of the gulf coast region. Since then, the Alternative Spring Break effort has expanded to cities like Detroit and Houston in order to combat the issues specific to those areas. Last year, I was fortunate enough to attend ASB in Biloxi. Please watch the video below to get a glimpse of the power that is ASB. Words cannot describe the impact this experience has on those that particpate. I have seen it change people for the better and I hope that you will help me fundraise. Whatever we can raise will help students to have this experience without putting them in a financial bind. Please consider donating whatever you can to help us build houses and feel free to pass on this page to whomever you would like!! And from the bottom of my heart....THANK YOU!!!
