Puddle has struggled with IBD. (Inflammatory Bowel Disease.) Now he has cancer and needs surgery to be cured. Please help him live.

Puddle is a tenacious, funny, sweet 4 1/2 year-old Pug who came to SDR after he was abandoned. Puddle has suffered from Inflammatory Bowel Disease, and our Vet has had marginal success treating him. Puddle's tests and treatment so far have already cost SDR $2,600 but we haven't given up, and neither has he. This week the vet gave us the unwelcome news that Puddle has a cancerous polyp. This can be cured completely with surgery , but it needs to happen soon and the cost of that surgery is estimated to be as much as $2400. His new adoptive family is standing by him and have committed to continue his care for IBD--we just need to get him through his surgery. Though we know it's expensive, how can anyone look at that face and say, "no"? This small life has so much value that can't be measured in money. Puddles needs it all the same. He has so many years of love to give. You can make sure he has those years with your tax-deductible donation. No amount is too small to make a difference. Let this persistent little Pug know he won't be abandoned again.

    While it is impossible to predict his future with certainty, we feel that we have helped save Puddle a second time. His spirit and courage, as well as his family's love for him, inspire us. We thought his supporters ought to know.

    We recently learned that Puddle was experiencing more alarming symptoms after recovering from his last surgery. Puddle was examined and found to have a large mass in his colon. SDR and his family decided to give a more aggressive surgery a chance to work. Puddle underwent surgery for a second time a few days ago. We are happy to report he is feeling much better and seems to be recovering some energy. The tumor was removed entirely alsong with a small section of colon, with no apparent spreading of the disease.

    Puddle underwent his surgery and is doing great!! Your generous donations helped to save this dog's life. We covered the cost and appreciate the help to make up for some of that--so we can help other dogs, too!
